SMS Terms & Conditions

1. Program description

The MI Forward Policies Alerts program is operated by MI Forward Policies. By providing your mobile number and affirmatively consenting, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing and advocacy text messages (SMS/MMS) from MI Forward Policies at that number, including policy alerts, action requests such as contacting your legislator, event invitations, and organizational updates.

2. Who is sending the messages

Messages come from MI Forward Policies only. We do not send messages on behalf of, or share your number with, any other organization, candidate, committee, or advertiser.

3. How to opt in

• On our website. Visit miforward.vcsms.co/sms, enter your mobile number, and check the separate text-message consent box. That box is unchecked by default and is optional — the form submits without it.
• By text. Text a program keyword to our number if one has been published to you.

Consent is not a condition of any purchase or donation, and you can use every part of our website and support our work without agreeing to receive texts.

4. Message frequency

Message frequency varies, up to 8 messages per month. Frequency may increase around legislative deadlines, elections, or events.

5. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. MI Forward Policies does not charge for the messages, but your mobile carrier may charge for messages and data according to your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.

6. How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message from us at any time. You will receive one final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and we will send no further messages to that number. You may also:

• use our opt-out page;
• email support@miforward.vcsms.co; or
• call (313) 327-2613.

Other recognized opt-out keywords include STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT.

8. Supported carriers

Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket, Google Fi, and most other U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Carrier support may change without notice.

9. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number you enroll, or authorized to consent on the subscriber's behalf. The program is available to U.S. mobile numbers only.

10. Privacy and your number

No mobile information will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used only to send you the messages described above and is disclosed only to the vendors that deliver them on our behalf. See our Privacy Policy, especially Section 4.

11. Changes to the program

We may modify or discontinue the program, or these SMS Terms, at any time. Material changes will be posted here and, where required, sent to subscribers by text.
